Top 15 Most-Visited Canadian sites

Vancouver’s Suite101.com published the first readership index of Canadian-owned websites today titled “Where The Online Readers Are”.  The Index was created to show which Canadian-owned websites get the most traffic and highlight what’s popular online. The inaugural January index shows that content-related sites dominate - ten of the fifteen highest traffic, Canadian-owned sites publish news and information.

10. Rogers Communications - 1,943 - Content
11. Spintop Games - 2,229 - Commerce: Games
12. The Toronto Star - 2,631 - Content
13. The Globe and Mail - 2,720 - Content
14. CTV - 2,756 - Content
15. TSN - The Sports Network -  2,836 - Content

Interesting list. According to Suite101.com, the list was “inspired” by Techvibes very own Startup Indexes and is based on Alexa.com traffic rankings. To be included on the list, companies must be Canadian-owned. Sites with a US parent company, such as Google.ca or Amazon.ca, were not eligible.
